Zach had aspirations of becoming an Earth Science teacher for many years. However, during his undergraduate studies he was exposed to the world of non-traditional and adventure-based education. This exposure allowed Zach to grow an appreciation and skill for education. Following college graduation, Zach began his career as a Program Director of a residential summer camp in the Adirondacks of New York State. He relocated to Minnesota to work as an After-School Site Director for the YMCA of the Greater Twin Cities. Following that, Zach accepted a job as an Outdoor Education Instructor at YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park and worked his way into a Director position at YMCA of the Rockies- Snow Mountain Ranch. Zach brings 7 years of youth development and education experience with him to IPCS. He hopes to utilize an experiential education approach with his students at IPCS.

Polly Gallagher

PE & Outdoor education Teacher

Education:
M.Ed, Secondary in Social Studies
BA Anthropology/ Political Science
Certificate in South East Asian Studies
Core Knowledge Leadership Training

"Watching children grow, experiencing the world through their eyes, and opening doors to new adventures are what drew me to education."

After nearly falling into an alligator tank as a zookeeper, Mrs.Gallagher moved more and more into the realm of education. Facilitating English language classes, zoo programs, museum courses, and outdoor education lessons, all led to a return to school and a teaching license. A real desire to promote written and oral communication to allow students to become active young citizens in our community and beyond is Mrs. Gallagher's primary academic goal with taking the time to read a story with a child a close second.
